Kazuhiro Tanimoto

Kazuhiro Tanimoto is a Japan-based generative artist and chemist with a Ph.D. in engineering, working in materials research and development. He builds real-time generative systems that leverage the computer’s computational power, focusing particularly on dynamic audio-visual expression. His practice explores the tensions and correspondences between physical and digital material, permanence and transience, and science and art, tracing the interrelations between technology, nature, and the human mind. His work is included in the Rhizome ArtBase. His works have been exhibited internationally, including at WSA (New York City), VA HUB (Taipei), NEORT++ (Tokyo), Art Blocks Gallery (Marfa) and the 21st Japan Media Arts Festival (Tokyo).
